Do you want to create content that stops people from scrolling past your page? The trick is to be intentional about how you shoot yourself and invest in quality. Here’s a quick read to help you think of different photoshoot ideas that can tell your story. This can work for anyone – an influencer, musician, actor, etc.
A good photo shoot is more than just a nice picture. It’s a way to help you tell your story.
The “Portrait” Shoot
This shoot is all about highlighting the personality of the subject. The goal is to show how they would present themselves if they were standing in front of a mirror, it’s a more vulnerabel side of you. You don’t need to dress up for a portrait – just wear something comfortable like a black turtleneck and jeans. By keeping the focus on you, portraits feel more intimate and simple.
A “Day In the Life” Shoot
This type of shoot is meant to show more about you and your personality. These types of photos can be shot with you in your “natural” environment, whether it be at home, or where you go to create like a studio. Pictures would involve of you getting ready, going to your favorite spot to eat, etc. My Authentic Creators campaign is shot this way.
The “Fashion/Glamour” Shoot
If you have some experience behind the camera or want to take your brand to the next level with some more advanced techniques, then consider doing an editorial photo shoot that includes studio lighting, styling, and a dope venue (or whatever else fits your brand). This will give your images more depth and texture than just shooting outside in natural light alone!
Hopefully, you’ve gained some insight into how these photos can be used to effectively market your brand or product. Keep in mind that there’s no universal solution—these three options, among others, might be useful for your brand, but not for another. Everyone has their own style, their own purpose. Whatever works for you and your brand is what will work best.
